Cold Won't Stop Kilt Skates in 3 Cities
How cold was it? It was so cold, shadows froze to the sidewalks. God had to jump-start the northern lights. Teenagers zipped up their jackets. (Now, that’s cold!) But on the weekend of January 26-27, the kilt skates went on in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto!
Scots are a pragmatic people. Sometimes. For the most part.
Scottish women, in particular, are sensible enough to wear their leggings under their kilts.
But not all the women.
In fact, many are thrawn enough to bare their knees to subarctic temperatures.
Are they going “regimental"? No one is saying.
In spite of the cold, the pipers played and the dancers danced.
Old friends met.
New friends were made.
There was cake, shortbread and hot chocolate for everyone.
And fun for the whole family.
A plendid time was had by all.
